Submission Deadline

The deadline for submissions to be considered for second issue is June 1, 2009. Any submissions received after this date will be held for consideration for our third issue. Please consult the complete submission guidelines below.-the editors

Submission Guidelines

Submit content for the print magazine electronically to collectivefallout@gmail.com. Please attach files in DOC, RTF, or PDF formats. Submissions for the January issue are due December 1. Submissions for the July issue are due June 1. Collective Fallout acquires First North American Serial Rights.

Short Story submissions must concern queer themes and/or characters, and fall into one or more of the science fiction, fantasy, horror, mystery, or other speculative genres. Stories may not be longer than 10,000 words.

Poetry submissions must be queer-related, both form and free verse, and of a surreal, metaphysical, or similar nature; narrative poetry should relate to the same genres as fiction. Up to 5 poems per submission, no more than 450 total lines.

All submissions must be written primarily in English.

Collective Fallout will print one or two full-color image(s) per issue on its covers. Digital image submissions should be submitted via email as an attachment (JPG, TIFF, PSD), minimum size 1200 x 1200 pixels.

We will not accept submissions of blatant erotica or pornography. We welcome submissions that make use of subtlety and innuendo; our primary focus remains the genres listed above. We will not accept fan-fiction or "slash."

Simultaneous submissions accepted; please keep us informed if your work is accepted elsewhere. Previous contributors must wait one year from the publication of their work before submitting again.

Response time can range anywhere from 2 days to 2 months.

Contributors will receive one contributor copy of the magazine.
